Taste of Little Italy is back!

Category: Stories

The sun is shining and the California is reopening, giving us the much-anticipated greenlight to bring Taste of Little Italy back in a full out fashion! It’s been a whirlwind last 13 years, so we’re excited to bring the foodie delight back with a fresh new feel. From Tuesday, June 22-Wednesday, June 23, foodies will delight in mouthwatering bites from 20+ culinary gems in the neighborhood. Stretched across our 48-square blocks, you can take a summer stroll with you Taste Passport as a guide to the culinary fest.

Once you arrive, you’ll be able to check-in during your scheduled arrival time in the Piazza della Famiglia, where you’ll receive you Taste Passport. This year’s Day 1 participating restaurants include: Ballast Point, Bencotto, Bobboi Natural Gelato (Kettner), Caffe Italia, Civico 1845, The Crack Shack, Davanti Enoteca, Mikkeller Brewing, Mr. Moto Pizza, Pali Wine Co., Puerto La Boca, and Samsburgers. Day 2 participating restaurants include: Allegro, Bobboi Natural Gelato (Little Italy Food Hall), Buon Appetito, Craft & Commerce, Filippi’s Pizza Grotto, Farmer’s Table, Frost Me Café & Bakery, Graze by Sam, M Winehouse, Monello, Not Not Tacos, Parakeet Café and Petrini’s.

Some of the delicious sips and bites provided by these restaurants include a Homemade Gnocchi in a Creamy Bell Pepper Sauce, Jidori Fire Nugs served with a house-made ranch, and Braised Spanish Meatballs served with and Aioli, Salsa Brava, Marcona Almonds and Sauce Pica. There’s something for dessert and craft beer lovers too! How do Gelato Samples, Windy Hill (IPA), California Dream (Pilsner) Burst (IPA) or Passion Pool (Gose) sound? Perhaps a Grapefruit Sculping Shrimp Ceviche made with Mint, Jalapeño, Cucumber, Golden Grapefruit, Cilantro and served with house-made tortilla chips really gets those taste buds going! Whatever your tastes are, Taste of Little Italy has everything you could possibly be craving!

California’s reopening marks a monumental shift in the pandemic time we’ve learned to operate in. From outdoor dining structures, to take-out meals, we’re grateful for San Diego’s support of restaurant business owners. We invite you to our event with open arms and open hearts, ready to safely enjoy the tastes, smells and sips of Little Italy with one another. Because that’s amoré!

We are so excited to bring back Taste back for the 13th annual event, offering our community an opportunity to enjoy the sites and delicious tastes of Little Italy’s many eclectic and diverse restaurants. We encourage you to purchase your tickets early, since the event sells out quickly! See you at the Piazza!
