Giving Back to San Diego’s First Responders!

To express our gratitude for the individuals who work to protect our communities each and every day, Little Italy will host First Responder’s Celebration Month! The neighborhood will come together in August to honor our local heroes with discounts from participating businesses in the community. More than 30 restaurants, shops, hotels and more will offer 10 percent off to First Responders and Armed Forces members who are in uniform or present a service ID. The celebration will recognize San Diego County’s Sheriff Department, San Diego’s Police Department, San Diego Fire-Rescue Team and San Diego Lifeguards, in addition to members of the Armed Forces. Little Italy will also honor first responders by lighting up the entire Piazza della Famiglia in blue lights.

Below are just a few participating Little Italy businesses that are offering a 10 percent discount for the entire month:

  • Restaurants | Enjoy a dinner celebration with your friends and family at one of the many Little Italy restaurants that will offer a discount on their delectable dishes. Visit award-winning restaurants like Barbusa and Juniper and Ivy to taste their renowned culinary offerings and experience the relaxing ambience. First responders can also dine at authentic Italian eateries like Civico 1845 or Nonna’s  for traditional cuisine.
  • Craft Brews and Lively Bars | Head down to Little Italy’s only gastro pub, BarOne or stop at Ballast Point to enjoy a wide range of locally-crafted beers on tap. Escape to Bolt Brewery any Wednesday in August for a friendly game of trivia, discounted drinks and tasty bar bites.
  • Home Décor and Fine Art | D3, a modern home and furniture store, is just one of the several Little Italy shops that will offer a discount on their trendy home décor items and popular home brands. Browse Meyer Fine Art gallery for original graphics, limited edition prints and artwork from prominent international artists.
  • Boutique Hotels | Plan a staycation in the neighborhood’s unique, boutique hotels that are centrally located in Little Italy so you have immediate access to fun activities and popular spots. La Pensione Hotel and Urban Boutique Hotel will have specials for service members, so book your stay now!
