How does it work?
The Taste of Little Italy is a showcase of participating restaurants throughout the Little Italy neighborhood in Downtown San Diego. Attendees stroll from restaurant to restaurant to enjoy their taste, sort of like a “pub crawl” but with restaurants. There are no street closures, this is an “in-restaurant” event, rather than a festival.
Tickets are purchased online. Attendees with tickets check in at a central kiosk in Little Italy, located at the corner of India and W. Date Streets. Each ticket-holder will receive a “Taste Passport” which is checked off after you received your taste at the participating restaurants. Each passport shows a map of the restaurants as well as the menu item that will be served at each venue.
Two Optional Routes
We have created 2 options, a North and South route, with more than 15 participating restaurants on each route. The North and South lists will be updated on this site as more restaurants sign up to participate. Check back in May for a more up-to-date roster.
The price for each route is $40 in advance and $45 on the day of the event. There will be a $2 convenience fee applied for all ticket purchases.
*North and South Routes may be subject to minor changes due to additional restaurant sign ups.
May I purchase tickets on site?
This event always sells out so while there may be a limited number available on site, we strongly recommend advance purchase.
Can children attend the event? Is there a minimum age?
Yes, children can attend the event and based on their age, you may want to purchase a ticket for older children who will want to have their own taste at each restaurant. A few establishments do require that you be 21 or older to obtain your taste as they serve alcohol.
What is included with my ticket?
Your ticket includes a small, taste-sized offering from each of the participating restaurants. Each restaurant chooses the item they wish to serve, to showcase their cuisine.
Where should I park?
There are several pay parking lots throughout the Little Italy area (W. Cedar & Kettner, W. Cedar & State. W. Beech & India, County Admin. building at Pacific Highway & Ash,) as well as street parking and three valet parking kiosks along India Street at W. Cedar, W. Date and W. Fir Streets.
Can I get my passport in advance?
Printed passports are typically available to ticketholders one week prior to the Taste at the Little Italy office during weekdays from 9:00am to 5:00pm. However please call us at 619.615.1092 before you come to make sure that someone will be present to make the exchange. The address is 2210 Columbia Street (corner of Columbia and Ivy in North Little Italy.)
It only takes a moment to exchange your ticket at the kiosk on the night of the event. The kiosk opens at 4:30pm. The event begins at 5:00pm.
