Little Italy Parking District
In early 2010, Centre City Development Corporation (CCDC) entered into an agreement with the Little Italy Association to manage the 45% of parking meter revenues that are allocated to San Diego’s Little Italy; to maximize parking and alleviate the strain of parking on surface streets.
With several programs underway, the Little Italy Association has launched freeway way-finding signs; Free 2-Hour Parking every Saturday at three different lots; an In-House Valet Parking Program that operates at three locations, on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays; and much more planned for future launch.
The above results are just some of the many called out in the Comprehensive Parking Plan created by New City America, Inc., consultants to the Little Italy Association, to maximize surfaces street parking with various programs, marketing and implementation.
After various program implementation questions, a request was submitted to the City Attorney’s Office for clarification and these were his and his staff’s response.
