Appreciation for What We Have:
We live in a wonderful time in world history, in a beautiful
spot in the world, in a great community of people. There
is probably more laughter and fraternal hugging and kissing
done on India Street than most other communities in the region.
We have attained a great and growing business mix, we have
outstanding property owners, a growing population of new residents
of all income levels and a the community-based Little Italy

Concepts
such as neighborhood, family and faith have new meaning after
September. Life is short and the time we have together
is finite. We must value the limited time we have and
make an impact, through whatever means, to make this a better

Appreciation of one's family, friends and co-workers can never
be taken for granted. Every minute that passes is gone.
Our lives should all have new meaning with new purpose in

to what was familiar.
Last summer, the LIA Board took action to respond to this
sentiment of providing comfortable public places for

to relax in our public rights of way. It was for this
reason that we designed the "pop out" under the Little Italy
sign and placed permanent and movable chairs in the pop-out.
It is also for this reason that we designed seating around
the holiday tree at India and Date. The Piazza will
represent a new dimension to supporting areas to
gather in Little Italy.
It is difficult to "come home" to a shopping center or mall.
We are consciously creating the venues for community members,
(business owners, property owners, residents, visitors), to
feel comfortable to just hang out on our streets. That
is what creates a com
