COOKING FOR A CROWD?
Make your holiday meals special with the freshest ingredients and spectacular treats, all at the Little Italy farmers' market this weekend. Shopping for brisket or fresh lamb to roast for Passover or Easter dinner, asparagus to steam, brussels sprouts and fingerling potatoes to caramelize? Our farm stands have them. Look for farm fresh strawberries bursting with flavor for brunch on Sunday. Check out Schaner Farms' naturally-colored Easter eggs in perfect shades of soft blue, green and yellow, ready to boil and hide. Whatever your holiday favorites, shopping at the Mercato is a great way to start your holiday weekend.

SWEET TREATS
Whether you're building a grown up Easter basket or offering an array of sweets at a holiday gathering, check out Loic Patisserie's melt-in-your-mouth French macaroons in pretty pastel colors and elegant chocolate cups and eggs from new vendor Dallmann Confections at the west end of the market. Pick up fruit tarts at Lisko Imports, coconut macaroons and flaky shortbread at Patisserie du Soleil, tangy lemon bars at Montana's and truffles from Eclipse Chocolat. |
BABY BUNNIES
Funky Spun has baby bunnies ready for new homes this week, just in time for Easter! Debra sits the big bunnies on her lap and spins their soft hair into pretty angora yarn. Whether you're on the lookout for a spinning wheel of your own or just want to check out the little cuties while you shop for gorgeous yarns, hats and scarves, see Debra at the Top of the Market.

FISH GLORIES
Smoked salmon has been shown to help fight off coronary heart disease due to Omega-3 oils, decreasing blood lipids, relaxing blood vessels, and decreasing vascular system congestion. And we thought we just loved because it tastes good! Omega Me Well offers black pepper and garlic smoked salmon, honey smoked salmon jerky, lox and more. New to the Mercato this week, Temecula Gourmet smokes their salmon locally in flavors like vodka citrus, cabernet chipotle, and Cointreau blood-orange. Their bourbon infused smoked cream cheese is the icing on the bagel.

WANT A PIZZA ME?
Hungry from all that shopping? Check out new Mercato vendor Principi's Pizza at the west end of the market. Their mobile wood burning pizza oven turns out thin-crusted breakfast calzones and pizzas ready to eat while you rest and take in the sights and sounds of the Mercato.
